Valerian transformed into Minotaur
King Valerian was a secondary antagonist in the playstation game Xena: Warrior Princess.
Biography[]
Before the events of the Sacrifice[]
Valerian was a King who participates in the evil plan of Kalabrax. The Renegade Amazons asked him to capture Gabrielle and keep her close to one of his rooms in his Kingdom in order to prepared her for the sacrifice. Valerian then paid the Pirate King Pactolus to burn the village Oebalus in order to distract Xena when she arrived to see her friend Sirus. So the minions of Valerian could kidnap Gabrielle on the road when Xena left her.
After the events in Oebalus[]
When Xena informed by Pactolus that Gabrielle has been in Valerian's Castle she travelled to his island. But she has to faced Kronos , Valerian's Soldier's and find a way to get into the castle by break the drawbridge chains with the Chakram in order to meet him. When she arrived Xena has to kill some last minions and then King Valerian came out with two centurians. When the two centuarians got out of the way a serious Xena asked some explanations about the whereabouts of Gabrielle and why all this mess happened and he respond that she has been chosen as the subject of a sacrificed that could help a new world order to take place. Then a faint- heart King transform into a hideous Minotaur and runs into the labyrinth and Xena followed him.
Into the maze[]
Xena tried to found Gabrielle when she fall into the maze by opening the chamber's door where Gabby located. When she found her along with the Minotaur inside the door behind her shut down and after a gruelling battle Xena defeated the Minotaur with her Chakram. Then after Xena and Gabrielle reunited the latter inform Xena that she heard the King mentioned about "Amazons" and "evil Magic" and Xena replied "let's pay them a visit" and they left the castle.

Personality[]
Valerian was a monarch in ancient Greece. He appeared to be a weak and faint-heart King who also was incapable of rule a Kingdom. When he was about to face Xena , immediately transformed himself into a Minotaur and refused to battle with her as a human. He clearly seduced like the Amazon Queen from the power of the dark side.
