The Titanomachy is the series of events that led to the Olympians dethroning the Titans.
The King of the Titans, Kronos, had a fear of losing his throne, as was predicted. So, he swallowed all of his children to prevent them from taking his place. But his wife Rhea saved her youngest son, Zeus, by sending him to Crete. Zeus grew up and started a war with Kronos and all the titans who stood with Kronos. Zeus released his brothers and sisters and won the battle. He threw his father into Tartarus and took his throne, founding the Olympian dynasty.
