Crown Princess Terreis was an Amazon warrior and the heir of her elder sister, Queen Melosa who was the leader of the Telaquire Amazon tribe. Before her untimely death at the hands of Krykus, she befriended and gave Gabrielle her Rite of Caste.
History[]
As Xena and Gabrielle made their way through Amazon territory, they were confronted by a group of Amazons, including Terreis and Ephiny. Terreis immediately took a liking to Gabrielle, who shared her views on peace. However, they were suddenly attacked by an unknown group of soldiers, thought to be Centaurs. During the attack, Terreis was shot with an arrow. With her final words, Terreis asked Gabrielle, who shielded her from any subsequent arrows, to accept her Right of Caste. After returning to the Amazon village, Terreis' body was cremated in ceremonial fashion.
One Centaur, Phantes, took the blame for killing Terreis, but upon learning Terreis' dreams of Centaurs and Amazons living in peace, he confessed that he did not kill her. It was later revealed that the warlord Krykus had killed Terreis to spark a war between the Amazons and the Centaurs.
