Terpsichore (☀Τερψιχόρη) is one of the nine muses and the Goddess of Chorus and Dance. Her name means "delight in dancing". She is usually shown sitting down and holding a lyre.

She plays a lyre and features in the television series' Hercules the Legendary Journeys and Xena the Warrior Princess. She is the daughter of Zeus and Mnemosyne, sister of Calliope the Goddess of Heroic poetry, and the granddaughter of Gaea and Uranus. She is also be the mother of the sirens and and may be the aunt of Orpheus and Asclepius. She plays a lyre named after her, called Terpsichore's Lyre.
