Legendary Journeys

While there has been a push lately to use the gender-neutral term "deity" rather than god/goddess, it's important to remember that, in the Xenaverse, the term "god" is, itself, gender neutral. There are many female immortals that refer to themselves as "a god" rather than "a goddess." While the term "goddess" does get used on occasion, there's solid evidence that "god" is a generic term for any exceptionally powerful immortal that demands worship, as the term "deity" is very rarely (if ever) used in the show. "It's important to remember that, in the Xenaverse, the term "god" is, itself, gender neutral.": What do you mean? How? "There are many female immortals that refer to themselves as 'a god' rather than 'a goddess.'": Well that is technically incorrect as god is a male gender term. "While the term "goddess" does get used on occasion, there's solid evidence that "god" is a generic term for any exceptionally powerful immortal that demands worship, as the term "deity" is very rarely (if ever) used in the show.": What "solid evidence" is there "...that 'god' is a generic term for any exceptionally powerful immortal that demands worship,..."? "...as the term "deity" is very rarely (if ever) used in the show.": The term deity (and variants) is used in the show, vary rarely but yes.

It is correct that "god" is used for both males and females in the shows. Therefore, it may be used that way on this wiki as well. Scott Lukas Williams (talk) 11:28, April 16, 2015 (UTC)

Also, "deityhood" is not a word and should not be used here. "Godhood" is a term that was used many times on the shows and is appropriate to use here on the wiki. Scott Lukas Williams (talk) 11:31, April 16, 2015 (UTC)

"Also, "deityhood" is not a word and should not be used here.": Who says it is not a word? "'Godhood' is a term that was used many times on the shows and is appropriate to use here on the wiki.": In some instances, yes. In others, no.

You can count, on one hand, the number of times the word "deity" is uttered across both shows. LuciaMoore (talk) 15:51, April 16, 2015 (UTC)

So how many times is that, based on your knowledge? Both shows? That implies only two.
