Shield of Perseus was an armament designed and constructed by Hephaestus. It held the power to make the wielder invisible. Iagos used the shield in a fight against Iolaus. Iolaus was still able to defeat him.
In mythology[]
In mythology, Perseus's shield didn't bestow invisibility upon its wielded. Rather, its inside was polished to a mirror finish, enabling Perseus to safely look around corners and behind himself to avoid Medusa's gaze, which needed to be viewed in person to take effect. Perseus instead used Hades's Helmet of Darkness or a cowl made of dog hide (versions vary) to make himself invisible.
