Legendary Journeys

Seraphin or "Serafin" was a childhood friend of Gabrielle's, who became involved with the Cult of Dahak on Xena: Warrior Princess.

Seraphin became the sacrifice that would bring about the re-birth of Hope. She seemed to have been brainwashed by the Cult, claiming that she believed Hope was good and was willing to die to release her onto Earth. When Gabrielle told her that Hope was her daughter, she started to become aware of what was really happening. She made it her main mission to touch Hope's cocoon with her own blood, in order to set her free.

Her fate remains unknown after the events in "Sacrifice II".

Trivia

The name Seraphin has a fascinating origin! It comes from the Hebrew word "seraphim," which refers to the highest order of angels in Christian angelology. These celestial beings are often depicted as fiery, radiant figures associated with purity and divine power. The name itself carries meanings related to "burning ones" or "fiery ones," symbolizing passion, intensity, and spiritual enlightenment.

Seraphin has been used across different cultures, particularly in French and German traditions. It has historical significance, appearing in religious texts and even inspiring artistic and literary works over the centuries

In Polish tradition, Serafin is a masculine name and is considered a variant of Seraphinus, which is also linked to the angelic hierarchy. The name carries strong spiritual connotations, often associated with leadership, protection, and warmth.
