The Roman Army, often refered to as The Romans, are one of the main antagonists of Xena: Warrior Princess and Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. Xena's encounters with them are one of many catalysts that led to her transformation into the Destroyer of Nations.[1]
Led by Julius Caesar until his death on the Ides of March,[2] they now serve Octavius, Julius' nephew and later adopted son now known as Augustus Caesar[3]. When Xena was presumed dead[4]Octavius took it upon himself to raise her daughter, Eve, who grew up to become Rome's greatest General - Livia, Bitch of Rome. She was reformed when Xena returned and told her about her true identity.[5]
