Rahl was a former member of Xena's army who settled down with his wife, Adiah, near Pomira territory. Together, Rahl and Adiah had a daughter called Vanessa. Vanessa was abducted by Cervic as a child. Six years later, Vanessa was reunited with her birth parents by Xena and Gabrielle. Rahl refused to forgive the Pomira for stealing his daughter.
