Pallaeus was a soldier in Gorgas' army. Gorgas had promised him the hand of his step-daughter, Rena but when Rena fell in love with Iphicles instead, Pallaeus became insanely jealous. Since Iphicles had taken the name of Hercules, Pallaeus went to Hera's Priest for help. Never missing a chance to harm Hercules, Hera and her Priest provided Pallaeus with a Mandrake that could potentially defeat the hero. Hercules was able to defeat the Mandrake and Pallaeus was imprisoned along with Gorgas.
