Marathon is a Greek city-state near Garantis and Attica. It was ruled by King Phaedron and Queen Euriana.
Background[]
- Historically, Marathon (Marathónas) was a town in Attica, roughly 25 miles from Athens itself. Accounts of the Athenian victory over the Persians at the Battle of Marathon in 490 BC led to the town lending its name to the modern institution of the marathon.
