Liz Friedman is a writer/producer for Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. When its star, Kevin Sorbo goes missing during an earthquake, she suggests that they could base the show around a "woman of the 90s" like Callisto. Liz, a no-nonsense alpha female with a love for cigarettes and sarcasm, was often the first to point out obvious flaws in the other producers' plans for replacing Kevin, such as using the Sovereign as an antagonist or switching to an animated series (both of which would require Sorbo's continued presence). At one point, she suggested that she was the only one in the room "getting any oxygen". She and Jerry Patrick Brown are rivals and often try to kill each other (HTLJ: "Yes, Virginia, There is a Hercules").
Liz would later be involved in the disastrous staff retreat at Camp Wannachuck – she and Melissa made several attempts to facilitate Rob's incapacitation while simultaneously still butting heads with Jerry. She rejects the idea of killing Iolaus a third time, but her complaint is overruled. When Ares revealed himself to still exist, Liz was horrified. After a moment, she suspected that Kevin Sorbo might actually be Hercules. (HTLJ: "For Those of You Just Joining Us")
