Queen Kanae was queen of the Telaquire Amazon tribe. She was a member of the Amazon council of queens.[1]

She fully supported Varia's idea to rebuild the Amazon nation. She wasn't in the Amazon dance ceremony and wasnt seen in To Helicon and Back, that means that she was one of the queens who didn't unite her tribe with the others and she left Varia and returned to her home and had avoid the war at Helicon.

- It was not known how Kanae became the queen of her tribe, though she must had eventually succeeded Queen Regent Chilapa, either directly or having some queen in-between them sometime after the true rightful queen of the tribe Gabrielle fell into her twenty-five year-long dormancy, during which she was considered dead by the rest of the world and the Amazons.
- Unlike Chilapa, and Ephiny, Gabrielle's first royal regent, Kanae was considered a new true rightful leader of the tribe, independent of the reign of Gabrielle.
