Legendary Journeys

Ilia was an Amazon in Queen Hippolyta's tribe.

History[]

Little is known about Ilia before the episode, although she grew up in Hippolyta's tribe and had never spoken to any men, only meeting them during the Amazon's "attacks".

Hercules and the Amazon Women[]

When Hercules was "imprisoned" in Hippolyta's cage, she arrived with Megara and a young girl to talk to him, expressing her curiosity about men and felt an emptiness she could not account for.

Later, when Hercules escaped and Hippolyta lead the attack on the men of Gargarencia, she arrived at the tent of Tiber, and the two spend the night together, seemingly having started a romance with him.

Trivia

The name Ilia (also spelled Ilya or Ilia) is a masculine name of Slavic and Hebrew origin. It means "my God is Yahu/Jah". It's derived from the Hebrew biblical name Eliyahu, which combines "el" (God) and "yah" (shortened form of Yahweh). Ilia is a popular name in Slavic countries and is a variation of the Hebrew name Elijah.

She was played by Fiona Mogridge.
