Season Six of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys aired from September 27, 1999 to November 22, 1999.
Summary[]
Having defeated the ultimate evil and saved the world from utter destruction, Hercules's final legendary journeys take a dark and dramatic turn as he contends with even more insidious foes, reunites with old friends, and has a final showdown with his greatest enemy.
In a departure from what became the norm in seasons 4 and 5, the much shorter final season features mostly serious and mature storylines.
Kevin Sorbo's contract ended part way into the season. He writes in his book True Strength the producers wanted to sign him to three more seasons. He declined, having planned to move on to the show Andromeda, but was willing to complete a full sixth season. The producers chose not to go for the full season.
