Elite archers

The personal guard of the goddess Athena, her elite archers are mortal but extremely competent. Unlike most fighters of their level, they are a well-drilled military unit, not just a group of individual heroes. The leader of the personal guard of Athena was Ilainus of Mycenae who was a close friend of Athena. She later died in the episode "Amphipolis Under Siege" in Xena: Warrior Princess.
