Damon was the son of Atalanta's brother and thus, her nephew. He was a Spartan who fought in the battles against the Eleans. Atalanta disliked the war and asked Hercules to find a way to stop it. In response, Hercules created the Olympic Games so that soldiers would have a different way to express competitiveness. Damon helped organize the games and eventually befriended an Elean named Brontus.
