King Cleades was a character on Xena: Warrior Princess. He was a tyrannical ruler with a vain wife, Gryphia. Athena decided to end the suffering of his people by turning him into a young infant, turning Gryphia into an elderly woman to look after him (learning to care in the process). Cleades was the key to finding the Crown of Athena, which was of high value to thieves and travellers. Once placed on the cushion in the seceret location of the Crown, he and Gryphia would revert back to their normal age.
Meg, Joxer and Autolycus set out to find the Crown and kidnapped Cleades to do so. Meg became quite attatched to the baby, as she has always wanted one of her own. Once he found them the Crown, he reverted to his normal age, as did Gryphia. With some last minute assistance from Xena, he fought off the warlords who wanted the crown for themselves, and he and Grpyhia continued to rule over the Kingdom.
