The Centre for Historical Accuracy of Key Research in Ancient Mythology (abbreviated as "C.H.A.K.R.A.M.") was a leading research facility, specializing in ancient times.
In 2001, they uncovered what seemed to be a marriage certificate between Xena and Ares, which was concealed in a scroll detailing the events between "Adventures in the Sin Trade II" and "A Family Affair". The presumed marriage certificate was later revealed to be contract that gave Ares possession of Xena's soul. Harry O'Casey, Mattie Merrill and Annie Day managed to stop Ares from renewing the contract and allowing him further possession of her soul.
