Badb was the Celtic goddess of war. With a mortal man, she gave birth to the demi-goddess Morrigan. She also has a granddaughter, Brigid (daughter of Morrigan and Celtic god Kernunnos).
Mythology[]
In Irish mythology, Badb is a goddess of war who could be transformed into a "crow". It is sometimes called Badb Catha ("Raven of War"). It is said that it can also acquire the form of a wolf
To control the course of the battle, Badb caused confusion in the soldiers to lead to a favorable outcome to their wishes.
Together with her sisters Nemain and Macha she forms a triad of goddesses of war. Other versions say that the sisters are personifications of the same Morrigan, or simply names given to her.
