1994 was the first year of production on Hercules: The Legendary Journeys Season 1, as well as the latter telemovies, although the first two (Hercules and the Amazon Women and Hercules and the Lost Kingdom) were produced in late 1993.

Only five programs (the Universal Action Pack movies) were released in 1994. Their success led to production on Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and its eventual release in early 1995.
